Senior Researcher Profile – Jennifer L. Vincenzo, PT, MPH, Ph.D.
Dr. Jennifer Vincenzo is an Associate Professor with the department of Physical Therapy at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Her research interests revolve around implementation science and fall prevention and health promotion for aging adults. Dr. Vincenzo is the former Chair of the Balance and Falls Special Interest Group and Arkansas State Advocate for the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)-Geriatrics. She is currently a Director on the Board for APTA-Geriatrics, serves on a task force with the National Council on Aging, and is in her second term as Chair of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging in Arkansas.
Dr. Vincenzo was the first faculty member in the College of Health Professions and on the Northwest Campus to receive a KL2 mentored research scholar award from UAMS (2019-2022) and a third year of partial funding due to her success. She is the 3rd physical therapist and only investigator at UAMS to receive the prestigious K76 Paul B. Beeson Emerging Leaders in Aging Career Development Award (2022-2027), of which she was awarded over $1 million dollars to develop and test implementation strategies to support the CDC-developed STEADI for fall prevention in outpatient physical therapy. She has served as a coinvestigator on other internal and external grant awards as well. Dr. Vincenzo has received recognition locally and nationally for her research and service. To date, she has published 35 peer-reviewed publications (11 first author, 6 senior author), contributed to 62 peer-reviewed conference posters and/or presentations, given 43 invited presentations, and contributed 23 non-referred publications.
